Subject: Filling up of the post of Deputy Narcotics Commissioner (Neemuch) under Central  Bureau of Narcotics, Gwalior.

            The post of Deputy Narcotics Commissioner at Neemuch (M.P.) is presently lying vacant.  The said post, as well as other posts of Deputy Narcotics Commissioner in Central Bureau of Narcotics, are filled up on transfer basis by an officer of Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Central Excise) Gr. 2.   The Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Neemuch is responsible for the M.P.Unit of Central Bureau of Narcotics. His work would entail:

(i)    Administrative & Vigilance control over about 398 officers posted in 8 Divisions and 7 Preventive & Intelligence Cells and Headquarters of M.P. Unit situated at Neemuch.

(ii)   Supervision & monitoring of work of licensing, cultivation and collection of opium in the M.P. Unit.

(iii)   The work is primarily preventive in nature and involves extensive traveling within the jurisdiction for proper administrative control.

(iv)    Enforcement of NDPS Act, 1985 in terms of prevention of trafficking of drugs & precursor chemicals and  attendant development of intelligence etc.

(v)    All matters relating to conduct and follow up of court cases involving  seizure of Narcotics Drugs etc. & arrests of offenders.

(vi)    Action for forfeiture of assets of Drug law offenders.

(vii)   Enforcement of PITNDPS Act, 1988.

3.         Eligible and willing officers may send their willingness to the Narcotics Commissioner, 19, The Mall, Morar, Gwalior-474006 (M.P.) so that a panel of names of suitable officers may be sent to the Board for consideration for posting as Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, Neemuch in the Central Bureau of Narcotics.
