OFFICE ORDER NO. 24/2010

The President of India is pleased to appoint the following officers to the grade of Assistant Commissioner of Customs & Central Excise in Pay Band-3 with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- on promotion on purely ad-hoc basis with effect from 16.10.2009 or the date from which their juniors were promoted vide Office Order No. 217/2009 dated 16.10.2009 as Assistant Commissioner, whichever is later:

2. The appointment is for a period of six months or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The promotion, being purely on ad-hoc basis for a limited period of six months only, does not confer any right on the officers so promoted for any claim for continued officiation or regular promotion in the grade and the period of such service will not count for seniority or as qualifying service for further promotions.

3. The ad-hoc promotions of the above mentioned officers shall be on in-situ basis, until further formal posting/ transfer orders that will be issued separately.

4. The Chief Commissioners concerned shall ensure that if any of the above officers is under suspension or facing any charge sheet or prosecution, he/ she shall not be allowed to assume charge in the grade of Assistant Commissioner and this fact be reported to the Board immediately.
